Lawyers Send Demand Letter to KSD on Behalf of KFEI

On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Thomas More Society attorneys sent a demand letter to the Kirkwood School District on behalf of Kirkwood for Educational Integrity in response to the LGBTQ+ “promo piece” that was shown to North Kirkwood Middle School students during school-wide announcements on October 23.

The lawyers assert that “the presentation flagrantly violated the Supreme Court’s landmark recent decision in Mahmoud v. Taylor, which held that under the First Amendment, government schools may not show ‘instruction or material’ to children that threatens to undermine their parents’ religious beliefs without first providing parents advance notice and the opportunity to opt their children out.” They also indicate that KSD is presently vulnerable to legal action if they do not cease and desist.
