KSD Persists in Refusal to Follow Parental Notification Laws Regarding Sexually Explicit Materials

On May 26, 2026, Thomas More Society lawyers sent a follow-up letter to KSD detailing how the District’s continued use of the Sora reading app (reminder: this is the app that provides students largely unfiltered access to sexually explicit materials!) without providing clear notification to parents continues to violate the law.

KSD has shown an ongoing refusal to transparently inform parents about the sexually explicit material provided to kids through this school-provided app. One wonders: WHY is there such resistance by our school leaders to notifying parents?

Please read the May 27, 2026 press release and letter, and consider the implications of our District continuing to put our children and our community (including your tax dollars!) at risk.

Remember, Kirkwood Police have confirmed that if an adult handed some of the materials in question (including some of the samples available at this age-protected link) to a child at a park in Kirkwood, the adult would be arrested.
